DescriptionA simple word ordering activity to consolidate pupils' understanding and application of alphabetical order.
 
ObjectiveY1

T 20 - to use simple dictionaries, and to understand their alphabetical organisation;

Y2

T 16 - to use dictionaries and glossaries to locate words by using initial letter;
T 18 - to use other alphabetically ordered texts, e.g. indexes, directories, listings, registers; to discuss how they are used;
 
AssessmentAssessment Strategy:

Mainly through observation and questioning – take a screen shot using the print screen key and pasting into a word processor application if you need to keep a record of work covered.
 
Prior KnowledgePre-requisite knowledge/skills/understanding: Basic mouse control skills, and developing understanding of the alphabet.
 
ExpectationsConsolidation of early dictionary skills.
 
HintsUnzip all files to the same directory.
 
MaterialsZIP Order.zip - Zipped file containing main exe file and supporting .swf files.
