(17 Feb 04) 		TRE comment Using PP slides for a specific focus on evidential understanding - These slides prove to be extremely helpful to begin an investigation into "Why is it so difficult to decide who really started the Reichstag Fire?" Notice how the enquiry question is specifically worded to ensure that pupil and teacher focus is on an a series of lessons focussing on source material and evidential issues. Much work on getting the enquiry question sharp and focused has been done in articles from the likes of Michael Riley and Jamie Byron in Teaching History. In fact articles from the likes of Dale Banham and Chris Cuplin have showed that to ensure pupils are ready for the demands of the GCSE examination teachers have to be more imaginative and sharper thereby avoiding evidential questions simply being tacked onto the end of worksheets and leading to pupil demotivation
