How many times have you wished that you had a random name selector handy in your class? Okay, maybe never! But now that you’ve got one just think of all the ways you could use it:
Selecting students to answer questions without having the same students answering all of the time!
Who’s going to do the presentation first then?
Random selector during quiz time!
You don’t have to use names – you could use topic titles or business names and randomly allocated them to students during an activity |

| This is an Powerpoint (2007) slide with a random pointer. It is fully customisable so you can put up to 30 names (although the 'Donut' name graphic automatically alters itself no matter how many names you put in. The Notes view of the slide tells you how to use it. |

| Just another way to liven up your class. |

| Be warned – the selector is not truly random. When you click on start it always starts from the same point (at 12 o’clock). I start the spinner going and then read the question out aloud (the length of the question brings a degree of randomness). |
