Stories are an excellent way of introducing the idea of moral dilemmas to young children. Two in particular that spring to mind are 'Lizzie's Invitation' by Holly Keller and 'Jamaica's Find' by Juanita Havill.
This resource uses Jamaica's Find as a means of introducing the idea of making choices.
Although the story is suitable for Key Stage 1 the dilemmas presented in it can help older children to consider how to make responsible choices and the impact of their actions upon other people. |
