Except as set out below, the Department for Children, Schools and Families ("DCSF") owns the copyright and other intellectual property rights in this site, including its design, text, graphics and their arrangements and the underlying technology and executable code.
Except as set out below, the DCSF does not claim any interest in the copyright of the individual contributions of teaching materials. These remain the property and responsibility of each individual contributor ("a Contributor"). Except as set out below, all rights, responsibilities and liabilities in respect of copyright and other intellectual property rights in such individual contributions rest with the creators and/or persons or organisations who have made such contribution available on this site.
Licence by contributors to The Teacher Resource Exchange - Terms and Conditions of Use By placing teaching materials (including but without limitation, all lesson plans and schemes of work) on the site, a Contributor:-

grants a licence to use the teaching materials placed as follows:-
- to the DCSF, to use the teaching materials for such purposes as the DCSF may consider appropriate;
- to the users of the Teacher Resources Exchange website, to use the teaching materials for their own personal, non-commercial use;
- warrants to the DCSF that the teaching materials placed are the Contributor's own original work, that the teaching materials have not been copied wholly or substantially from any other work or material and that the use under the licences granted in clause 1 above, will not infringe the rights of any third party; and the Contributor further warrants to Becta that the teaching materials contain nothing that is libellous, defamatory or indecent or which infringes the statutory or common law rights of any third party;
- agrees to indemnify the DCSF against all actions, claims, demands, costs or damage arising directly or indirectly as a result of any breach of the warranty in clause 2 above;
- permits the DCSF, on the Contributor's behalf, to do any acts and things that the DCSF may consider necessary to ensure compliance with the terms of the licence granted to users of the site under clause 1 above.
- waives the Contributor's rights (if any) to be identified as the author of the teaching materials and to object to derogatory treatment of the teaching materials.
